Coaching
What is coaching?
Coaching is a form of learning, where a coach supports someone else, the coachee, to create learning and self-development in a way that benefits them.
Coaching is not a fad, it has arrived, many organisations and individuals see coaching as an essential part of their learning strategy.
Why do people have coaching?
People have coaching because they want to find their possibility. They want to improve their situation, achieve goals and get better results in their life. This can include learning new ways of thinking, building more effective relationships, gaining more confidence and being more effective in their work.
Benefits people experience from coaching include improved focus, increased self awareness, improved ability to relate to and influence others, increased motivation, increased resilience and an improved ability to handle change.
What can you expect from your coach?
You can expect a form of support that is distinct from any other. Your coach focuses solely on you with an attention and commitment you will rarely experience anywhere else. Your coach will listen to find out exactly who you are, what you think and what you want from life. They will work with you to get real clarity and encourage you to rise to challenges, overcome obstacles and take action.

Focus on : Business Coaching
Business coaching is focused on you, how you lead, manage and develop your business. Ask yourself these questions:
• Do you work very long hours (but would like not to?)
• Do you spend all your hours working in your business and not on it?
• Would you like to delegate more?
• Have you neglected your own personal development?
• Are you good but want to be amazing?
If you answered yes to any of these you would benefit from some time with a Business Coach.
Coaching includes a mix of challenge and support. I act as a critical friend creating a safe confidential relationship that allows you to strive for success and lead your business to be the best.
We will identify the key areas you need to work on, explore new perspectives and options to improve these areas and set actions to ensure our conversations lead to tangible results for you.

Ever thought about coaching? Not really sure what to expect? Not sure what your role is when being coached? So here's some help for you.
What is a Coachee? Someone who receives coaching!
What is a Coach? I see myself as the person holding the safety rope for the trapeze artist, they have a huge amount of skill, they want to grow their skills, continually improve on what they do, maybe find new ways of doing things, new skills, they can only do this with me holding the safety rope, this lets them know they can take risks and experiment, knowing I am there to support them all the way.
What is Coaching? Coaching provides the opportunity to Learn and Develop to achieve a desired outcome of change. You may want to change the way you interact with people, change your life/work balance, change your career, change the way you work. You see even if you want to improve in a particular area of your work what you essentially want to do is change it. Coaching provides you with the time, space, opportunity and confidential support to enable you to do that.
What can I expect from my Coach? They should be well prepared, a great listener, asking questions that make you think, reflecting and checking back, have high personal integrity, total respect and confidentiality, absolute commitment to their coachee, be challenging but supportive, have a selection of tools and methods to offer you, will ask you for regular feedback and let you take ownership of the coaching relationship and methods.
What will my Coach expect from me? That you prepare for the session, you are honest, open minded and with no hidden agendas, you come to the session with clear realistic outcomes, you cooperate and demonstrate full involvement, have an openness to learning and trying new things, achieve agreed objectives and action points between sessions, give and receive honest feedback and understand it won’t be all plain sailing!
How can I identify who is a good coach? For coaching to be successful a safe, trusted relationship has to exist between Coach and Coachee. Search for coaches, ask for recommendations, look for coaches who offer a free consultation, talk to them, where possible meet with them and always prepare for this conversation/meeting (see below). Check out qualifications, accreditation and affiliation to a Professional body, they should have professional indemnity insurance. Ask about their code of ethics and if they have an independent complaints procedure.
What should I ask a prospective Coach? Ask for proof of qualifications, for a copy of the code of ethics, if they have experience in working with similar people to you, how they will expect you to prepare for the session, how will the sessions be varied, what current interests they have in the field of coaching, how do they support their own learning and development, what will the review process be and how will you both agree the coaching contract.
How do you decide? After the call or meeting you should ask yourself – did you feel at ease with this person, was I able to be open and honest? Were they able to answer my questions fully, could they provide the information and copies I wanted, do I feel I can learn from this person? Did they seem genuinely interested in me, what questions did they ask me? A professional person will not be offended if you take a while to decide or have further questions to ask them on reflection.
